Abstract
This case study explored the use of family art therapy and solution-focused therapy with a family experiencing domestic violence. A couple and their two children requested a referral for therapy from the police. They were seen for a total of nine 60-minute sessions over 16 weeks. Measurements included a pre- and posttest of marital satisfaction, a pretest of parental nurturing behavior, a pretest evaluation, using drawing, of the family system, and a qualitative assessment of the progress of the therapy sessions. Results indicated that the treatment interventions enhanced the marital satisfaction of the couple.
